Last Day!! Last Day!!

I just walked in the door and my cat gave me a dirty look. Like she was going to waste away to nothing from my neglect. It IS midnight and neither of us has eaten anything but a few cookies and bugs all day. (I had the cookies - actually ginger scones - Thanks Christine!! - and the cat ate the bugs).

The store was open until 8pm tonight and it was busy all day! When I got to work at 1pm, there was a line from the desk all the way to the back office! Thank you everyone who came and shopped today!!! I met so many cool people and even set up a playdate for me and my daughter. Yah!
There is still plenty of good stuff left and I spent the last four hours restocking and tidying the chaos. So there is fresh chaos for tomorrow's customers.

Everything in the store is 50% off (that's off the retail prices). And all of you who subscribed to our newsletter and were getting the "Secret Coupons" - the secret was an extra 20%... so that means everything was 70% off for you. So I'll do the same thing tomorrow, the very last day of the sale. So fill a basket or two with stuff and bring it to the counter. Say "I got the secret coupon, but I didn't print it out." That's the secret password. Very important. We'll automatically, and super-secretly add the discount to your slip. And don't stand in line telling everyone around you WHAT the secret sale is!!!?
By the way, 70% off is a freaking lot of money. So if you can't decide between two things, buy them both.

And please plan on being patient. People are buying MORE stuff, but we still have to scan the barcodes and add it all up. Math is hard. But Alex and Jillian don't have school tomorrow so they'll be in the shop helping. They are High School Kids and have more stamina and brain cells. And my mother won't force the poor innocent customers to help her bag stuff. If you bring ginger scones or chocolate chip cookies, please be sure to bring a lot because we have to share with all the people waiting in line. And my mom likes her coffee with milk. You know, just in case you were wondering...
;-D
Cheers,
-Sandy

New Store Hours (and secret stuff...shhh!)

Wingdoodle's new store hours will be:

Thursday....11am to 8pm
Friday........11am to 5pm
Saturday....11am to 4pm
Sunday......12am to 3pm

Monday to Wednesday open by appointment
(Let us know when you will be driving through town, and we will do our best to be here for you.)

We will keep these hours until Christmas, then we will close the store for the rest of the winter while we regroup and figure out what comes next. We may reopen again in the Spring. Or not. Who knows?

The GOOD news for YOU is that we need to clear out as much stock as possible before the holidays. So there will be lots of sales and really great discounts coming up! The specials will get better and better as we get closer to closing, but we also will not be reordering. If there is something you have had your eye on for a while, don't wait too long to get it!

For now, everything in the store (except Zentangle® books and materials) is 10% off. This includes the books and magazines that are already discounted 40%.

If you would like to hear about some super-secret special sales coming soon... be sure to sign up here: http://eepurl.com/cMIW2. I'll send you coupons as I think of specials. If you have some sale fantasies of your own, write them in the comments. You never know. Just because we need to clear out the store in only a few weeks, doesn't mean we can't have a heck of a lot of fun doing it! ;-D
 Cheers,
-Sandy

Zentangle for Kidz Book Signing Party

Today Wingdoodle hosted a book signing party for Sandy and her new book, Zentangle for Kidz. She gave a mini Zentangle class at 1pm. It was a great success and everyone enjoyed it. We had food which my daughter Kayla made and, as usual, it was good. The make-and- take was a pin you could tangle yourself. Wingdoodle was very crowded for about 2 hours during the party and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. There are more pictures on Facebook; check them out.

If you couldn't make the book signing today at Wingdoodle.Sandy is doing another one at Mill Brook Gallery Wednesday August 10, 1-3pm.

Welcome Spring!

Krystin, Mary and Christian manning the butterfly project sponsored by the Out of the Studio Group.

Fairy Houses

Fairy Houses

It was a little overcast Saturday but it did not discourage people from coming out for Warner's third annual Spring into Warner. The kids decorated butterflies with paint and crayons, made wands, got their face painted and built fairy houses. There was music, art and dance to enjoy. The church had a meatloaf supper in the evening and there was a dance at the town hall.

Thank you to everyone who made this event a success. Thank you Mary for running the Fairy house building project next to Wingdoodle. Thank you Krystin for designing the OOTS fliers and also the butterfly project and running it. If anyone is interested in the Out of the Studio group or learning more about it we have a facebook page or when you come into Wingdoodle we can give you the information. Thank you Kay for the loan of the tent, thank you to everyone who helped set it up, take it down and helped with the butterfly project. I think about 60 or 70 butterflies were painted, I visited the tent one time and there were about 10 butterflies hanging from the top of the tent drying.

Welcome Spring!

Wingdoodle Christmas Open House

So this seems to be a pattern with all of us at Wingdoodle. We get so busy after the party starts that we neglect to take pictures. So we only have pictures of before the party starts and when it was almost over. My daughter Kayla and her friend Lindsay did a wonderful job with the food. Everything was so good, if anyone wants the recipe for the Southwestern Dip just ask and I will post it ( it was really, really good).

The make and take was so much fun. I am glad I supplied vinyl gloves to everyone doing the alcohol ink Christmas ornament, it got a little messy but it also created some laughs. I wish I would of gotten pictures of all the beautiful ornaments. We also collectively did about 40 Valentines for Operation Write Home (thank you all).  I will post pictures of the Valentines next week on facebook. Thank you to everyone who attended the open house and made it such a success.

Events, Events, Events

I know everyone is very busy getting ready for Christmas but Wingdoodle has several events to let you know about.  First tonight Friday December 10th from 6-8pm we will be making Valentine cards for Operation Write Home.  Stop in the store and grab a snack, shop and then come upstairs and join the cardmaking party, everything is supplied to make the cards. Operation Write Home is an organization that is close to my heart because my son is in the Army and my daughter is in the National Guard.  Here is a link to their website if you would like to check it out http://www.operationwritehome.org/.  The Valentines have to be into the shippers by January 7th in order to be mailed to the troops and they in turn need to mail them back to their loved ones.

Second event is the Warner Christmas Shopping Tour.  This involves everyone in town and is always a fun event.  Get your passport stamped at all the businesses involved and enter to win a wonderful gift basket.  Wingdoodle's make and take will be a hot chocolate packet card.  So stop by the demo table and check it out.

Third event will be the Hero Art Party.  Our Hero Art Party will be on Thursday December16th from 5-7pm.. The Hero Art sale starts on December 11th and ends December 31st.   We have the new Flower Power stamps from Hero Art and if you buy  a new Hero stamp you can buy a red dotted Hero stamp for 50% off.  December 16th we will be doing make and takes using a new set of Hero stamps. We will also have cookies, hot cider and door prizes.

As you can see we have all kinds of things happening within the next 2 weeks so stop in and join the fun.
